Day 1: Arrival Day - Fly to Marrakech
The adventure begins! You will be met and picked up from Marrakech Airport and transferred to our hotel. Settle in and then why not head out to experience the famous Djemaa el Fna square where your senses will explode with the riotous colours, sounds and smells of Marrakech. Watch the entertainers performing, the myriad of food stalls lit up and the general hustle and bustle of the medina.
Peak 1: M’goun (4,071m)
While crowds flock to Jebel Toubkal, nature lovers can be found heading to the M’goun Massif known for its pristine, prehistoric landscapes and with some of Morocco’s highest peaks and toughest trekking.
Day 2: DRIVE TO VALLEY OF AIT bOUGAMEZ TO BEGIN TREKKING
2 - 3 hours hiking, elevation gain and loss: 400m to 1,800m to 2,250m
Day 2: After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for the 5 hour drive into the valley of Ait Bougamez (Happy Valley) before beginning our trek. At Arous village we will be met by our mule team and then set off on trek to Ikiss n Arous camp. Breakfast [B], Lunch [L], Dinner [D]
Day 3: trek to the Tarkeddit Plateau
6 - 7 hours hiking, elevation gain and loss: 2,250 m to 3,400m then down to 2,900m
We head out after breakfast for our ascent up to the Tizi-n-Tazite (2,900m) pass and the Tizi-n-Targadit (3,400m) pass, via a number of switch-backs before heading down to the Tarkeddit Plateau. This remote area with very few other trekkers and is our base camp for the ascent of M’goun. [B,L,D].-
Day 4: ascent of M’goun
10 - 12 hours hiking, elevation gain and loss: 2,900m to 4,071m to 2000m
We set off early in the morning in the dark at approximately 3am for our summit attempt of M’goun. This is a slow long ascent which becomes steeper on approach to the summit, though the sunrise and ridge line is truly spectacular. After reaching the summit and taking in the views, we begin our demanding descent into camp at Assaka. Tonight we have a well-earned rest! [B,L,D]
Day 5: Trek out and 4X4 jeep transfer to village
2 - 3 hours hiking, elevation gain and loss: 2,000m to 1,821m then jeep transfer
Today is a rest day with a 2-3 hour hike to our transfer at Imi-n-Oulaoun where we say goodbye to our M’goun crew! Our 4X4 jeeps will transfer us to the next range in the High Atlas Mountains and take us down to the route past Skoura and the southern town of Ouarzazate before going north over the passes of the High Atlas and smaller roads to Amzouzart. We stay at a local guesthouse/camp in the village for the night. [B,L,D]
Day 6: lac d’Ifni lake and camp (2,295m)
3 hours hiking, elevation gain: 2,295m
We leave after breakfast and hike for 3 hours to stunning Lac D’Ifni, Morocco’s largest mountain lake at an altitude of 2,295m. After ample photo opportunities we get to the camp by the lake just before lunch. Spend the afternoon relaxing ahead of a big hike day! [B,L,D]
Peak 2: Toubkal (4,167m)
Day 7: Trek to the nelter refuge (3,200m)
6 -7 hours hiking, elevation gain and loss: 2,295m to the pass of 3,684m then down to 3,207m
Today is a big day as we make our way to the refuge below Ouanoukrim and Toubkal. Very few take this route so you can be spoilt with the mountain to yourselves! The route ascends approximately 1300m to the pass of Tizi-n-Ouanaoumas at 3,684m before descending to the Nelter camp by the Toubkal refuge. [B,L,D]
Day 8: Ascent of Toubkal (4,167m)
7 - 8 hours hiking, elevation gain and loss: 3,207m to 4,167m and down to 3,207m
After a light breakfast at approximately 3am, we begin the hike to the summit of Toubkal, the highest peak in Northern Africa. It’s an early start to make best use of the weather and reach the ridge for a stunning sunrise. We traverse the southern ridge to reach the summit at 4,167m and the top of our peak. After taking in the views and the obligatory summit selfie, we start our descent into camp. [B,L,D]
Peak 3: Ouanoukrim (4,089m)
Day 9: Ascent of Ouanoukrim (4,089m) and descent to imlil for transfer to marrakech
10 - 12 hours hiking, elevation gain and loss: 3,207m to 4,089m and down to 1,740m
An early wake up call and we leave camp at approximately 3am for our ascent of Ouanoukrim, the last of our peaks, trekking up to the Tizi-n-Ougan (3,750m) and onwards to the summit. The route is rocky in places with minor scrambling but no technical assistance is needed. We reach the summit mid morning and take in the views before heading down to the Nelter camp and then to Imlil where your transport will be waiting to whisk you back to Marrakech and well earned celebration! Day 10: Departure day - transfer to Marrakech Airport
Today is our last day and group transfers will be available to take you back to Marrakech Airport. [B]

Deposits: Please note that all deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable
Cancellations: We strongly suggest that you take out trip cancellation/travel insurance. Due to our small size, cancellations affect us greatly. Trips cancelled between 90 and 65 days prior to the expedition start date will incur a 25% cancellation fee. 50% of the total expedition price will be charged for cancellations between 64 and 30 days. No portion of the total expedition price will be reimbursed for cancellations within 30 days of the trip start date.
Discounts on future trips: Provided the trip is cancelled more than 90 days before the start date, the £150 deposit may be applied to a future trip if booked within 365 days, at the discretion of the company.
Final Payments: Final balances are due 90 days prior to the trip start date.

Group airport transfers from Marrakech International Airport
For the transfer it is advised participants book arrive at the airport before 12 noon on Day 1 (participants will need to attend a briefing at 5pm) and departure flights on Day 10 should not be earlier than 10.30am.
