A key part of any expedition preparation is in the training. Our training weekends meets, provide individuals with important information and skills that will enhance your overall experience regardless of what expedition you choose.

The weekends provide a perfect opportunity to discuss with you your training plans and preparation for an expedition, for you to ask any questions but is also a great opportunity to meet us, your other prospective team mates, and gel as a team.

If you have still not yet decided on an expedition or are simply looking to get in a training weekend on the hills you are very welcome. The weekends will help you test your limits and prepare you mentally and physically for when you decide on your adventure!

We run a number of training weekends throughout the year which will be based in the UK and run from Friday evening to Sunday lunchtime. Our outline itinerary below provides more details.

2020 weekend training meets:



  • Friday night accommodation at local bunkhouse or hostel

  • Expedition Meals (Meat, Vegan, Gluten Free) from Firepot for Saturday Evening and Sunday Breakfast

  • All costs for professional qualified mountain and expedition leader and guides for the two days.

  • Dedicated UK support team to help you best prepare and advice on training, equipment, altitude throughout the weekend.

outline itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Friday evening in Snowdonia from 5pm. Accommodation will be provided in a local bunkhouse or hostel. For those arriving in the evening, the aim will be to head out to the local pub for dinner and a kit check and briefing before bed.

Day 2: An early wake up and breakfast, leaving at 8.30am and walking by 9am. The aim will be to head to the Carneddau area to begin our day’s walk. The 5-7 hour walk will be approximately 17km (10miles) with 1,200m of ascent before we make camp for the night at around 4-5pm, cook dinner and settle down for the night. Wake up call at 3am for a night summit attempt.

Day 3: We carry on walking through the night and early hours of the morning with a sunrise on the hill. We continue walking till approximately midday onto the Glyder Range before descending where you will be free to go at leisure.

*Please note that you will be expected to be self-sufficient and carry all your own kit including your tent on Saturday and Sunday.
